The next morning we went back to the YMCA camp for a trail ride. This is not a trail for beginners! Eveyone over 6 needs their own horse and the trail is steep and rocky. We didn't know what to except. My aunt, who had never ridden a horse, was scared to death. It is a…

I recently traveled to Cheyenne, WY to visit a friend of mine who is living out there. The last week in July is Frontier Days which is the biggest event in Cheyenne all year. Its 10 days or rodeos, concerts and carnival rides. It was my first rodeo. I flew into Denver which is like an hour and a half from Cheyenne. We went to the rodeo, went to the Gretchen Wilson, Cowboy Troy and Big n Rich concert and then went to Estes Park, CO. Took a 3 hour horseback ride into the Rockies.

A quick weekend trip where it involves nature is always a great refreshing break from our daily routine. Estes Park is a quaint little town w/ spectacular (i'm really running out of adjectives) views, mountains, lakes, hiking trails, and lots of fresh air. When I was in Estes Park, I felt like I was part of a story book. It's really cute. Although its quaintness can be borderline creepy, especially when I found out that the movie, The Shining was inspired by one of the hotels there...eek.

Bike & Build provides young adults with the opportunity to participate in a cross-country bike trip across the US to raise awareness for affordable housing. My route cycled from Virginia Beach, VA to Cannon Beach, OR (5/15/08-7/25/08). Once a week, we traded our bikes in for hammers and helped with Habitat for Humanity or another affordable housing organization. It was, by far, the greatest travel experience I have ever had.

I love where I grew up in Colorado Springs, CO. There is so much to do and see and I thought, I'd put a few pictures on here so people can see why I love my home! I also included a few pictures from around my beautiful state!

Early in the morning, after Mar and I thank Jeanne for her hospitality, we headed out of Denver on Interstate 25 North. In the vicinity of Longmont, we headed west on CO-66 to the US-36 North. We drove most of the morning to get to Fall River Visitor Center, not too far away from the to…

This trip combined a stay in downtown Denver along with a few nights in Loveland, Colorado and a few day hikes in Rocky Mountain National Park. It was raining or foggy almost the whole time, so I don't have as many good pictures.

A good friend transferred to Denver so a couple of us went to visit her. We crammed a ton into a four day weekend--Estes Park, Royal Gorge, 7 Falls and great food and drink. The best part was catching up with a good friend. But, I forgot how pretty Colorado is! I can't wait to go back!

Carol was great to travel with, our tastes are so similar, and we survived 2 weeks of living in each other’s pocket and are still speaking to each other. Even after her having to dress my blistered toe every day for a week.
The green, pink and white marbles were used in the const…

My best friend and travelling buddy were off again. This time to Boulder, Colorado and nearby places of interest. Toured Coors Brewery, Celestial Seasonings, Rocky Mountain National Park, browsed Pearl Street Mall, and saw A Midsummer's Night Dream at the Shakespeare Festival on Univ of Colorado campus.

Estes Park is a small, touristy town just outside of Rocky Mountain National Park. A logical place to stop for food, souvenirs, etc. when visiting the area. They had a strip with DOZENS of gift shops and food places. We went from store to store, browsing for T-shirts, magnets, and anyth…
