Everyone warned us to take the highway and not the toll road to Chichen-Itza. Well, of course. We'd heard the toll roads were really expensive. Well, the difference between the toll road and the highway wasn't so clear on the signs and we did end up on the toll road. We hit the first close to an hour later... for $19. The site is further down the main road and back into the thicket. Op23 is a small platform group with two small structures. It was test pitted about four years ago but nothing much was found. Scott wants us to put four new holes in the ground. Once I got back to the other site they had finished and we packed up and walke…

Stopped over at the famous Ruins Site halfway between Playa Del Carmen and the State Capital, Merida.
World Famous, El Castillo.
Amazing ruins site, best seen with a guide for at least the first few hours, then go wondering by yourself. Best early in the morning or late afternoon to get those elusive photos without people in them.
Temple of the Warriors.
