ESSEX MURALS Feb 14, 2017

Come visit beautiful downtown Essex and their outdoor gallery of HISTORIC MURALS. There are thirteen murals all together, depicting transportation, agricultural roots, Essex Train Station, Liberation, Sports in Essex, Sharing the Past, Corner Grocer and Street Car Days - just to name a few. I will highlight some of them for you. I guess you'll have to make a trip to Essex to see the rest.

Known as the "Hub of the County" ESSEX is located in Southwestern Ontario, in the county of Essex. According to the latest census. Essex has a population of 20,085.

The county of Essex is one of the first counties to be settled in Ontario, mostly by French people in the mid 1700's.

It's known as the "HUB" as it has Leamington, Kingsville and Lake Erie to the south of it, Belle River and Lake St. Clair to the north of it, Windsor and the Detroit River to the north-west of it, Amherstburg to the west and Chatham and the Thames River to the east.

Essex is a friendly little town "where everyone knows your name". Agriculture is very important to the area. Plenty of little shops and family-owned restaurants can be found along its main street - Talbot St.
