Esna Overview

Esna in Egypt is situated near a dam in the river Nile where all the boats have to go through a lock. While the big ships are waiting to enter the lock, many local traders offer their goods in small boats.
They throw their goods to the tourists and when they like it they throw the money down or throw the merchandise back. But many tourists can't throw....so many goods fall into the water! Fortunately the goods are wrapped in plastic and the traders are very quick retrieving their goods from the water. It is really an amazing sight!

In the village itself you can visit a temple and a market.
Be sure to haggle before you buy!
