Hidden reserve for a nice walk Dec 03, 2012
It was written a lot of things in the newspaper about the town, but I found also a relaxing place here. So this is the nature reserve. You need to walk a little bit away from the town centre to the west, but you find a great woodland with paths for walks. The area is not so vast, but I found there a small lake in the middle, which I didn't expect at all. It looks a bit like a deserted place or another world in there. You can sit back and relax on the wooden chairs and at the tables. Those, who like to learn something about the nature, are on the correct place as well, as this place is an educational hub of wildlife.

Choose a day with beautiful weather and you can connect the visit with a walk (partially on the road) to the Ukrainian Chapel at the old Hallmuir Prisoner of War Camp (www.undiscoveredscotland.co.uk/lockerbie/ukrainianchapel/index.html).

Enjoy both the places, same as I did :-).
