Esher Interactive Museum At The Palace Reviews
Esher in Het Paleis - Esher At The Palace May 04, 2008
Something to be seen in Den Haag (The Hague) is Esher in Het Paleis. MC Esher (Mauritis Cornelis Esher 1898-1972), made mostly woodcut engravings and lithographs of a wide variety of subjects. These woodcuts are transfered to paper and the results truly remarkable. You stop an stare at each piece and get lost in the intricacies of his work and life.
After absorbing his works of art, interactive movies and games take up one floor of the museum. This was a great way to explain further the mathematical theories and ideas he was using in a fun way. Great for teaching kids abstract thinking, sans the stuffiness some museums have. Coffee and Bag storage on site. Gift shop was reasonably priced. Make sure you grab a coupon card from your hostel. It will get you a Euro off each member you bring to the museum. Adults 7,50 Groups of 18+ 6,50 Kids 0-6 Free Kids 7-15 5,00 School Classes Special Rates. |
