Escobar, Niederrad Reviews
Dec 30, 2006
Escobar was recently voted amongst the top five tapas bars in Frankfurt and it’s not difficult to see why.
Slightly hidden on side street off the main road it boasts a sleek modern design both inside and out. Comprising of a sort of 'L shape' the long, well stocked bar dominates one 'leg' whilst the main seating area takes up the other. A large screen is situated in the apex where they show sports events, including English Premiership football if you ask them nicely. The menu comprises of the usual range of tapas dishes with some brunch type snacks and sandwiches thrown in for good measure. Swift service and tasty food means you can't really fault the dining experience. The key selling point of this place though is just how friendly the staff are - they really can't do enough for you. They were more than happy to show English football at our request and seem to have a habit of providing occasional free rounds of cocktails to their favoured customers which magically appear at your table, compliments of the house. Although it's a way out of the city centre it's well worth checking out if you're in the neighbourhood and it's certainly the best bar in the area. It might even be worth a journey as it’s just round the corner from the tramstop - you wouldn’t regret it. Part of the 'Dinner for One' - A Very German New Year! travel blog |

Niederrad and ensconce ourselves in Escobar to watch football.
I've stayed in Hotel Niederrad on a number of occasions, often enough to believe that I could have a loyalty card! This time however they chucked me a right curve ball when they… 1-0, Nade. Get In!!!!! |
