Es repos - ibiza. Hidden gem but dubious service. Still a nice find. Sep 27, 2015
Patience that is a virtue.

Picture this:

A nice morning day at around 9 am in the morning, cars are just getting going, the garbage truck is making its rounds around the park of central Ibiza square. The sun shines in ibiza, the sea salt odour of the sea make its way into the main park (vara del rey), the horn of the ships goes off and takes you by surprise as if it was a church bell. It does not matter as hunger strikes and right then and there is Es repos.

Now, realistically - the cafe has its quirks.

The season I was there - 2015, (2013 it did not exist) the ladies were really really nice. And they do their work very well and I have to give them my sincere thank you. However they seem to be a little big disorganized. Customers come into the main bakery waiting in line, just to be told to go outside and have a seat at the main plaza. Which has an amazing morning view , people walking by, girls coming back from pacha, snobby girls shopping early in the morning, older women shopping for groceries.

So this creates a nice scenery however the backlog that this disorderly placing makes basically creates a more longer waiting period time. And quite frankly most people want to go back home to sleep or just are so hungry to get their meal place ordered. I learned to make friends and thus I always waited inline inside the bakery, I went to this bakery every single day. It was great.

The ensaymadas are rich and flavorful, the sandwiches are well prepared, the bread is fresh and hot. The croissants are cute and usually fresh. You can ask for them to be heated up and they will do so for you.

Bearing in mind very minor problems this bakery is an amazing place to eat breakfast - Spanish style.

If you ever happen to be in Ibiza town are looking for an affordable but very good morning breakfast, look at this park. Vara del rey - full of really good artisan shops that prepare amazing breakfast and good bakeries. Near the hard rock cafe restaurant as well, which prepares decent burgers.

give it a try you will not be disappointed. I highly recommend the ham and cheese sandwich. It is just so rich in taste and very well prepared. About 3 or 4 euros.

Great taste, great value.

Average good full breakfast will probably cost you around 15 euros. If you are really on a budget you can have a nice breakfast for around 6 euros.

Be safe and save money.
