Eros Bendato (the sideways head) Krakow Reviews
Eros Bendato (Eros bound) Feb 27, 2008
Eros Bendato (Eros bound) is a bronze statue by Igor Mitoraj created in 1999 (moved to Krakow in 2003). Along with the Adam Mickiewicz statue and Kościół Mariacki it is a very common and popular meeting place on Rynek Głowny (Krakow’s main market square in the heart of its old town), everybody, even if they’ve just arrived to Krakow, knows what and where you mean if you say “let’s meet by the head”.
A very common photo spot, there are plenty of ways tourists play with the sideways head in framing their pictures. Plus it’s hollow inside, so people can climb up inside and stick their head through the eyes. The city even lights it up at night, so whenever you are in Krakow, take a look.
