Day trip to Santa Cruz, one of the Channel Islands. The channel islands are sometimes called the "Galapagos of North America". While located only a short boat ride from Los Angeles/Ventura, it is one of the least visited national parks in the country, and still offers beauty and solitude.

Visiting Japan with Lisa! Staying in Tokyo for most of the visit with some side trips to Kyoto and Takayama. Overall impressions of Japan were great. People were extremely friendly and polite, streets were clean, and cities were safe. Lots of great food, too.

Two week trip to Ireland with Ryan (foolz0r) and Dave (Dave). Lots of rain, Guinness, and green. We also went to the first ever international TravBuddy get-together in Bunratty. Under construction: more photos and blogs coming soon!

10 day surf trip to Costa Rica with Dave (Buffetrand). Annoying roosters, rampaging cows, wild dogs, scorpions, monkeys, great waves, a few stitches, and amazingly friendly people.

Weekend roadtrip to Santa Barbara. The weather was a bit foggy and cloudy in Santa Barbara, so we headed east to the Danish town of Solvang where the weather and relaxed lifestyle were perfect!

Two friends and I loaded up a van full of surfboards, Doritos and instant noodles and headed to the deserted coasts of Baja in search of waves.

5 weeks in Eastern Europe, from the beaches of Croatia and the baths of Budapest to the sand dunes of Lithuania.

Went with the UC Berkeley Hapa Club on a trip to Yosemite. We camped there for a few nights and hiked to the top of half dome.

Traveled with four friends on a three week trek through Europe.

Celebrated my grandparents' 50th wedding anniversary by taking a cruise with my family through the Panama Canal and spending a few days in Costa Rica.

Went to Anglet and Biarritz in the south of France to do some surfing. Then headed to Paris.

Traveled with some friends to Cinque Terre, a set of 5 small towns along the north-west coast of Italy. The towns are so close together that you can easily hike between them, enjoying spectacular views of the sea.

During the first break of my study abroad program, I enjoyed some giant steins of beer in Munich and a wet bike ride in the mountains of Switzerland.
