You'll never get lost! Aug 20, 2011
Eric the Red is a reasonably priced guesthouse run by a warm couple who go out of their way to make your stay in Reykjavik a memorable one. The place is cozy and comfortable. Breakfast features many local meats, cheeses, eggs, fish, oatmeal, etc. The hostess hooked us up with a more intimate tour of the Golden Circle instead of the mega tours you find through the guidebooks.. and it was even a little cheaper. Then she packed us lunches for the trip. One of the best parts though was its location. You can easily walk to all the city shops, restaurants, sights, and bus station. Furthermore, you will never get lost as it is literally across the street from Reykjavik's distinctive cathedral which towers over the city and can be seen from almost anywhere in the city. If you get lost, just look up and head in the direction of the tower. A cozy place for a cozy capital.
