Epic Cafe
Epic Cafe Reviews

I will not go back.
The cafe was busy but we were told 30 minutes. An hour and 15 minutes later I decided to ask when our meal would come. It came after another 5-10 minutes. Other people were complaining or questioning the time it took to receive their meals also. One couple walked out. Unfortunately, we had already paid so we couldn't. My tomatoe soup was not very good. It tasted like plain boiled tomatoes with some onion. No seasoning or anything. It was quite sour so after a dozen or so spoons, my mouth could not take any more. The person dining with me received a rather greasy toasted sandwhich that was not very nice. We went based on a recommendation and we certainly were disappointed. Some of the meals seemed to be quite large but given all the other factors, we can get better service elsewhere. In reviews of this cafe on other sites, there seem to be the same comments about the wait. I can't understand why they don't sort it out. |

Epic - if you are coming to Wellington, you HAVE to go to Epic for brunch. It is, well, epic.
I have lived in Wellington pretty much my whole life, so I know it pretty well - and with brunch being my favourite 'meal' (or amalgamation of), it was inevitable I'd find THE place to eat it ;o) I recommend their French Toast with fresh fruit, as you get heaps of fruit (not just a couple of slices of apple), and their Eggs Benedict is rockin as well. They make the best coffee, and their smoothies are divine. It doesn't cost a lot, (the French Toast is about NZ$12) and it's easy to find, on the corner of Willis and Ghuznee Streets. Couldn't come more highly recommended from me - I have been there more times than I can count, and they have never, ever, let me down :o) |
