Entry Visas - Hurghada Aug 28, 2011
Just a quick tip if you are arriving in Hurghada by plane at Hurghada Airport. As this is a military controlled airport tour reps are not allowed into the terminal and must wait for holiday makers in the car park. As you get off the plane you are shown into the immigration and passport control where the first thing you have to do is purchase a visa. The staff shepherd you to desks where they charge you $18 each. These staff wear Thomas Cook lanyards but are NOT Thomas Cook staff. If you ignore them and turn to the Bureau de Change to the left of the other desks you can purchase the visa for only $15 per person. It's not much money to save but you are pressurised into paying the more expensive price and are not told about the other option.
