Ensor Hotel Bruges

Those whose idea of a perfect hotel involves matching towels should probably look elsewhere, but anyone who wants a friendly, fun, family hotel in the centre of Bruges, could do a lot worse than checking in here.
The rooms are all different, each one has character. Don't make the mistake of looking in on the other rooms as you'll end up wishing that you had taken 11 instead of 12, or 14instead of 9. Low ceilings and charming views over cobble-stoned streets and tranquil canals, not far from the little restaurants of T'Zand and the central shopping streets - walking distance from all of central Bruges, in fact.

The owner, a native of Bruges, knows his city like the back of his hand, and seems to have had a whole string of businesses in the city. Ask him for recommendations, and he will chat away about his city, combining the natural discretion of the Flemish (sometimes you get the impression that wishing you a pleasant day is thought to be an intrusion on your right to have an unpleasant one, if that is what you wish)with open friendliness and a lot of practical advice of the kind a tourists welcomes and relishes when discovering a new city...

For a combination of charm, council, friendliness, simplicity and decent buffet breakfast (we liked the pancakes), all combined with a very reasonable price, we know where we'll be satying next time we visit Bruges. And anyway, all our towels matched...
