Ensign Peak: A must go place Nov 15, 2014
Ever since I moved to SLC I cannot get my eyes off the beautiful hills and mountains here. The city itself is not too shabby either. If you are short on time and trying to decide where to go, I would highly recommend visiting Ensign peak in the North or the valley.

You would drive straight up State Street from downtown and park by the entrance to the park. A short 10-15 minute walk up will put you at what seems the top of the world :-) well, not really, but the views are still great. You can see the U and downtown, Antelope island in the middle of The Great Salt Lake and catch glimpses of the parallel running canyons as the valley stretches out in front of you to the South.

I have made this hike 4 or 5 times now, both by myself and with guests and the view never ceases to amaze me.

If you are trying to decide between visiting the Temple vs. Ensign Peak. I think the choice is clear! Even Brigham Young ran up this hill first when he came to the Salt Lake valley!
