There is plenty to do and see, I highly recommend taking your time and enjoying what you see. Take a tour of some of the surrounding towns, it is a great way to see the countryside and how living is more traditional outside the city.

Florence was lovely, easy to enjoy, and full of interesting streets, stores, markets, and sights. It was not as mobbed as feared. It was just as invigorating and enjoyable as yesterday. It is
funny to watch Italians wake up and move. They are very spastic with their
movement (which I know is ironic to some for me to say) because they fly up and down streets, with no apparent thought in mind. And they… I Don't Want to Leave... |

Still we enjoyed the Uffuzi with great works and recognized many of the great artists from our previous museums in Europe . I cannot say that the kids are thrilled to spend so many hours tromping through cavernous halls of museums, but they are typically good sports… 5.30.09 Fascinating Florence |

Later that day, we went to see the Medici Chapel and the Uffizi museum, both of which I enjoyed a lot. The Medici Chapel is known for the tomb sculptures by Michelangelo, and the Uffizi was home to many of Sandro Botticelli’s great works, including “The Birth of Venus.” That night, we got a large group to go out for dinner and a few bars… Italy at last! |

I could enjoy art from Tizziano, Goya, Brugue, il Greco, etc. After that I went to the Duomo. This time I went inside the Cathedral and climbed the tower bell of course. Stairs I saw, stairs I had to climb, hahaha. There were 416 steps! It was good… Enjoying the art in lovely Firenze :) |
