Emma´s Drømmekjøkken Tromso Reviews
Superb! Oct 02, 2013
Emma´s Drømmekjøkken (Emma´s Dream kitchen) is located in the heart of Tromsø, right across the street from the old wooden cathedral. It´s a small restaurant on two floors, in an old wooden building. Emma´s Under (Emma´s wonders) on the ground floor is informal and has a nice atmosphere. Furniture is modern and they have a nice slate floor. Lunch is served from 11 am - 4 pm, then it´s dinner menu. Emma´s Drømmekjøkken on the first floor is more elegant with white tablecloths and “grandma´s curtains”. It opens at 6 pm and serve dinner only. Both Emma´s Drømmekjøkken and Emma´s Under share the same menu and the same kitchen.
The menu is from the Norwegian kitchen and they use local ingredients. It is mainly fish (in all shapes and sizes), but they also serve reindeer, lamb and beef. To complement the food they have an extensive wine list.
My friend ordered the seafood gratin and I had the baked salmon with teryaki, ginger, sesame seeds, tzaziki and potatoes. Everything was elegantly presented and very tasty. The food was very fresh and portions were reasonably sized. The mains on the lunch menu were around $25-30 and $50 on the dinner menu.
Our food was served by very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful staff.
I can highly recommend Emma´s Drømmekjøkken. The food is delicious and the service impeccable. I have found my spot in Tromsø. For an evening meal reservation is recommended.
