Emiliano's Cafe

Emiliano's Cafe Gainesville Reviews
Best atmosphere in downtown Gainesville! Sep 04, 2010
I know there are a lot of solo travelers out there in Trav Buddy world, but if you're going to go to this place I suggest you bring a bunch of friends (or a handful of Trav Buddies!). I know this because I went solo and noticed everyone else really enjoying themselves. I had the beautiful bartender to talk to so it's not like I didn't have any fun for myself ;)
So since I was in town for the Florida Gator football game I started with an Orange and Blue mojito. A twist on the original with fresh crushed blueberries and an orange slice. Trying not to be biased because I am a Gator grad, but it was easily the best mojito I've had in my life thus far. I opted not to have an tappa since I didn't want to get too full; I still had a full night of drinking ahead of me. I normally don't go for the specials. I don't know why but sometimes I think that maybe since they don't make it all of the time they'll be more likely to mess it up? I don't know. Either way, I decided to step outside of myself and try one of the specials. Pan seared red grouper with a Caribbean mojo criollo and plantain yuca mofongo. The grouper was cooked perfectly and whatever Caribbean mojo criollo is, it's fan-friggin-tastic! The plantain yuca mofongo is basically like a mashed potato and banana fritter...delicious! I looked at all of the tappas and everything sounded amazing. Do yourself a favor if you're in the area and check this place out. It could even be a mini meet-up/dinner outing for TravBuddies! ![]()
