Emeril's New Orleans Oct 10, 2009
Emeril’s New Orleans is conveniently located in the Warehouse District just minutes from the French Quarter and most downtown hotels. They offer complimentary valet parking in a secure lot located right across the street! I was loving the valet parking because if you’ve ever been to the Warehouse District, you’d know that finding safe parking and just parking in general, is a pain in the a**!
The wine list is very extensive! I didn’t actually count the number of pages but I would guess that it was in excess of 50. The food was amazing! I started with the smoked exotic mushrooms with fresh Angel Hair pasta and House-made Tasso cream sauce. It was amazing. I would’ve licked all the mushroomy-goodness off my plate if there were no people around. My entrée arrived promptly. I had the grilled ribeye of beef with Romano potatoes, local vine ripe tomato-argula salad, aged Gorgonzola, Lardons and aged Balsamicor. Until today I didn’t know what half of that stuff was! The ribeye was very tender and juicy! The salad, Gorgonzola, Lardons and Balsamicor added unique flavors to the dish and complimented the steak very well. For dessert, I ordered Emeril’s Banana Cream Pie. It was without a doubt the best dessert I’ve ever had! Don’t pass it up! My mouth waters as I think about it. The service was outstanding! We had 3 different servers that were all very professional and very knowledgeable of the wine and dinner menu. After some well-deserved gratuity and a small donation to Emeril’s “Come Grow With Us” charity, the bill totaled $140. The food and drinks came out to $110. Well worth every penny for a dinner for two! I highly recommend Emeril’s New Orleans to anyone traveling through the “Big Easy”! Cheers! |

Praise be to Emeril's May 14, 2009
Praise be to Emeril’s! In a town known for its food, I was starting to wonder where all the culinary masterminds were hiding. Turns out, they were all in Emeril’s kitchen. At lunch, Emeril’s offers a three course meal for $20, which I highly recommend. The pork chop was the best I’ve ever tasted. It was surrounded by greens, assorted beans and homemade pickle slices. The sauce was so good, that the greens were just as delicious as the pork chop. The pulled pork sandwich was also good, but it didn’t hold a candle to the pork chop. Under the appetizers, I recommend the BBQ shrimp with a petite rosemary biscuit, which comes in a thick, rich sauce, and the chicken gumbo. For dessert, the vanilla crème brulee with a seasonal cookie and blueberry bread pudding with white chocolate ice cream were both divine. As for service, you can’t top this place. There are always five people standing there just waiting for you to need something. No joke! The kitchen is open, so you can watch these creative minds at work.

Luckily we were saved by our dinner reservations at Nola • an Emeril Lagasse restaurant. We had to wait to be seated and we were starving!!! This was probably due more to our drunkenness than true hunger, but somebody … I can’t remember who … saved us by convincing a bartender to give us bread. At that… NOLA Jazz Festival 2007! |

All I have to say is thank god for Emeril's. He was my saving grace today. In a city known for it's food, it has been suprisingly hard to find something good to eat. I've been visiting all the places to tour books have suggested and haven't been… Wild vs. Mild |
