Emergency Clinic
Emergency Clinic Reviews
Carefully picking emergency service in Bali Oct 28, 2008
Sh*t happens, while walking by the beach enjoying the sunset, one of my friend got a nail stuck in his feet. There were six of us panicked of the event. Luckily, finding first aid kit is not so hard, we bought some band aid and alcohol in the nearest mini mart from the beach.
But still, he need treatment to avoid Tetanus. So we dragged him into car and looking for the nearest clinic to check him up. We found this small clinic in Seminyak named Bali Clinic. The clinic not so fancy and quite empty. After list him down to the receptionist he got checked up in the doctor's room. Around 20 minutes after that, he got out from the room and we all waiting for the settlement-payment thing. Funny thing is before the settlement, the nurse was interrogating him with questions like: "are you working or still a college student? which company do you work for? how much is your salary? the company will pay for your medical expenses right?", however we still think it's quite normal procedure in clinics, so we just let it be. But then when he received the invoice, we were all shocked, because they billed him Rp. 3.000.000 (around 300USD!!!) for neutralized the wound and one tetanus injection. That, my friend, is insane! we're refused to pay the bill and confront the administration office for the ridiculous bill. We even checked the rate of the medicines they used by calling drugstores. And we found out that the clinic marked up all the rate. After argued, the clinic willing to revised the bill, but still they came up with Rp. 1.500.000 bill, half the amount of the previous bill but still we refused it. We demand to meet the Clinic's manager, but they refused. We spend like almost 90 minutes arguing about the bill until one of my friend, at last, gave them Rp 300.000 in cash, and tell them "if your manager wants to complain, this is my phone number" and gave them her cellphone number. And we all left the clinic. Till the last day of our visit in Bali, we didn't hear anything from the Bali Clinic. Oh, and I have to mention that this event happened exactly when the injured friend had his birthday!!..yeah, sh*t do happen. |
