Embassy Suites Alexandria - Old Town is our favorite place to stay to avoid drinking and driving after our big parties in Old Town Alexandria. This Embassy Suites is located right across the parking lot from the King Street Metro on the Blue and Yellow lines going to downtown Washington, DC. When we lived in Alexandria from 1999-2003, we had several big parties at Stella's Restaurant and Bar which was next door (but closed in 2005 suddenly) which had an outdoor patio seating area which could be reserved for parties.

The Embassy Suites Alexandria - Old Town has their own large parking garage and free complimentary breakfast buffet. The manager's drink specials and open bar in the evenings is also a plus.

The nearby shops and art galleries of King Street and the George Washington Mason Memorial is a must-see in Old Town. The open atrium-style hotel has a great view of the George Washington Mason Memorial and is also sound-proofed so you can't hear the Metro trains. There is also an Amtrak station which doubles as the Virginia Railway Express commuter train station adjacent to the King Street Metro.

For a comfortable room and a great breakfast in Old Town Alexandria with Metro access, Embassy Suites Alexandria - Old Town can't be beat!
