Great local food in a friendly setting Jul 21, 2015
I loved Lisbon and I loved this restaurant in the Barrio Alto. It is a small unassuming place. It feels like you are walking into someone's dining room. The waitress who greeted me could not have been friendlier, even though it appeared she was very busy. The restaurant has a limited menu of local dishes, all from local farms. The wine list is nice and I went for the vinho verde as it is the thing to drink in Portugal. She was very knowledgable about the wine list and I followed her recommendation. I started with this delightful white bean tuna salad which could have been a meal by itself. Then, upon her suggestion, I had this wonderful local chorizo dish. It was so fresh tasting. Like everywhere I ate in Portugal the bill was quite low for such high quality food. Moreover, the very attentive and friendly service really did make it feel like you were in someone's home dining room.
