Elvetino Zurich Reviews
Swiss gastronomy on rails Jul 26, 2008
Elvetino is the catering operator of the Swiss national railways, SBB. As such, it provides both dining car services and at-seat snacks and drinks throughout Switzerland, and on international trains such as the Transalpin.
Their restaurant cars are clean, modern and offer a varied menu, with choices for children, vegetarians etc. I found them pleasant, and the food was fresh and in good quantity.
The dining car details can be found here: http://www.elvetino.ch/d_speisewagen.cfm (DE), while the Minibar service is described here: http://www.elvetino.ch/d_railbar.cfm
I'd reccomend having brunch in the Transalpin train before reaching Salzburg, as from then on you might miss on the scenery (the dining car windows are rather small)
