Before coming here I thought it would be a giant forest of miniature

trees that you could walk around in, a shrunken down version of a

normal forest. Upon arriving, however, I was disappointed to find that

the "forest" was just a bunch of shrub like plants along a hill. The

bushes/"trees" were so dense that you couldn't really walk among them

and if it weren't for the many signs marking the area as an "Elfin

Forest", I probably would have just mistaken it for another Californian

hill.

This is one of my favorite places in all of SLO county. Perhaps you were there on an off day. It is so relaxing just to sit on one of the benches and enjoy the view of the estuary and Morro Rock in the distance. As a local I try to go there a few times a month in the summer when the weather is nice just to enjoy the boardwalk and check out the quail. Anyway, you should give it another chance. :)

We were just looking for things to do in the area, and this was one of the top things. A lot of signs in town point towards it too. Slightly over-rated!
