They Certainly Like Their "El's" Here  There is nothing at El Zonte bar a reef point break, a surf camp and a couple of restaurants - a wonderful place to spend a couple of days relaxing and having a go at the surf.  Or not.  Surfers note, there really aren't any boards to hire here, unless you like the cut-and-shut variety.  So I wasn't really concentrating on what I was doing, wondering when this 9ft behemoth was going to snap under me.  So I tried a couple of goes …

I woke up early and surfed in the beginner’s area.  I tried to surf out in the break, but it was too choppy.  So I played around in the white wash again, practicing standing and keeping my balance.  The only problem with this, you can stand for just a few short seconds before you hit the beach.  But it is great for learning how to pop up.  I was feeling a little brave, so I paddled out to where the good surfers were.  It was cool for awhile, until I discovere…
