El Tovar Hotel Grand Canyon

The El Tovar is a nice, clean, historical hotel with a lot to offer if you want to stay within Grand Canyon National Park. It was beautiful and impressive as we arrived but our enthusiasm dimmed over our visit. The staff at check-in and out that we dealt with very helpful- most of whom are not Americans, which was quite a surprise. I'd agree that the rooms are on the small side, although very clean and well maintained.

My sister and her family visited me for Christmas in 2006, what better place to take her than the grand canyon, it was a last minute booking but we still got a great price for just one night at El Tovar. The restaurant however was not that great so we ate elsewhere
There are only four rooms that have truly breathtaking views of the canyon with large patios: the El Tovar Suite (3rd floor) the Presidential Suite (3rd), the Mary Jane Coulter Suite (2nd floor) and the Fred Harvey Suite (2nd). To get any of these rooms you must book much earlier as they are sold almost six months of the year. I have sinc tried to book one, but I’m yet to get any.
