El Santisimo
El Santisimo Reviews
Great Food, Beautiful Surroundings Mar 22, 2009
El Santisimo (translates to "most holy")is located in the San Diego Barrio within Cartagena's walled in city. It was a favorite restaurant of mine when I worked in Cartagena. The food is excellent and different. Most things come in some kind of sauce made from the local fruits and they are yummy, yummy, yummy. There is a closed in area with AC and an outside area under two large mango trees, which provide shade. Don't worry about a mango falling on your head during your meal because luckily there is a net to catch them. All of the meals have these crazy names like "The Sins of the Novice" and the desserts are named after the seven deadly sins ( envy, lust, gluttony, etc). They have really good fruit juices- I recommend the mandarin juice. The outside courtyard is a nice place to have lunch and relax especially since most people choose to sit inside. At night, you may need reservations.
