My best vacation! Jun 05, 2011
El Rio is a perfect place of natural beauty and tranquility. All rooms offers a spectacular view of calm water, the beach, and hills.

No tv, no phone, so you will be oblige to explore the area, while having an intimate, quality time with your love ones. Well, it’s not so cheap to just waste your time indoor, and hey, it’s a paradise!

The resort has infinity pool, sports house, gift shop, bar, spa, library and video room. Food are really great as well.

Staffs, headed by Alex, are really great and so cheerful! In fact, they got the Certificate of Excellence in 2011. I agree that it’s the best vacation spot in the Philippines, particularly for the honeymooners. Indeed a lil bit expensive, but every single peso is worth it!

I have enjoyed every second in this resort! It was so peaceful, yet no boring moments. I can say that this was the best vacation I ever had in my life!

River and Sea Jan 06, 2011
Like any man who has gone through a certain pivotal moment of his existence I will never forget the day I arrived at the resort. The name itself 'El Rio y Mar' brings thoughts of swaying palm trees over crystal clear blue water and cool tropical drinks. True enough it was all of those. The dining experience was topnotch so don't expect pink birthday cakes and silly raisin jellos. The cheesecake is unique in itself and shouldn't be missed. I blame them for now giving me a standard of measurement when it comes to good food. The staff are friendly and accommodating not to mention talented in ways that will surprise even the most jaded traveler of the region. So what are you waiting for? Hop on your yacht and sail to this temptation island located north of the island of Coron, Busuanga.

Heartwarming staff which reflects the very core of Filipino hospitality! May 31, 2011
Whether it's a surprise wedding proposal in a secluded island, a romantic dinner by the beach, mountain hiking with a tour guide, a day trip to the sister resort or island hopping... The staff will take care of your every need!

They're ranked as the number 1 resort in Coron on TripAdvisor.com which is very fitting because of the rate of service they offer.

relaxation in coron Jul 10, 2010
well, this resort offers a different kind of service, it is all about privacy. very nice place to do snorkeling, spotted a medium size sting ray few meters away from the beach :)

the resort is best for honeymooners and relaxation.

Scuba diving is relatively expensive compared to diving lodges in Coron main land.

staff are extremely friendly.

the Spa is an average, not very expensive though.

they offer a lot of recreational activities e.g. Banana boat, water surfing, snorkeling, diving, boat trips, a day pass to Club Paradise resort ..etc

like the pool, overlooking the mountains and the sea, tranquilizing.

i remember an incident that took place; we decided that we go to an isolated island, which turned out to be amazing, and later on we go to club paradise resort for a day pass. The whole day was just amazing, the Island , then snorkeling at club paradise, very good snorkeling spot.

the thing is that they mistakenly woke us up an hour late, as we were supposed to start the trip by 5am, but i like how they apologized for that, they did not charge us for the club paradise trip, that originally costs around PHP4000 per couple

like the rooms, all with a sea view overlooking the mountains, very cheerful

they have 2 different kings of rooms,

1- modern ones with a better air conditioning a 2 story Villa divided into 4 rooms.

2- traditional Filipino ones (bamboo) nice terraces and complete privacy (stand alone)

no in-room land line telephone

no shady spots on the beach, not to mention that the beach is not for swimming

looking for a nice beach? go to Club paradise

Best vacation spot in the Philippines! Mar 26, 2010
Our family stayed at El Rio y Mar in late March, 2010. It is a little more expensive than other resorts in the vicinity, but well worth it - you get what you pay for, in truth! After living in and traveling around the Philippines for almost 3 years, I can honestly say that this was the best vacation experience we have had! The location is beautiful, and the ambiance is just what we were looking for: Peace and quiet! No TVs, pumping music, or screaming yuppies around this place! ;0) What you will hear is the wind, the waves, the birds, and the occasional monkey. The beds are a bit hard, but I've found that to be uniform in my travels around Asia. Alex, the top-notch manager, heads a staff of friendly professionals. The food is great, and the candle light dinners on the beach were a hit with our whole family. Rent a kayak and paddle through the mangroves - it's a one of a kind experience. DO NOT miss the Coron Island tour! This is something that is certainly a must-see. You'll swim in some of the most pristine (and beautiful!) lakes in the Philippines, and you'll end up with a relaxing dip in the Maniquit hot springs. An overall extremely satisfying experience - don't miss it!
