I am done
island hopping - it has been great but it is time to move on and the connections
from El Nido to anywhere else are pretty limited. 'There is a cargo boat which
is fairly cheap. There just don't seem to be anybody who knows when it leaves
and from where so that is not really an option.…

Ladies and gentlemen, I suggest that you get 2 boxes of Kleenex. This is not gonna be easy...I woke up with a heavy feeling in my chest. The girls would be staying for a couple more days, while Seb would be staying for another couple of weeks. I felt bad about missing out on a lot of stuff that the…

From the photos that I had seen, I knew that the Philippines is a beautiful country I would enjoy visiting. But I never imagined that I would be going there for my wedding!
This blog is about our wedding trip and honeymoon in the Philippines.

From Manila I took a 24 hours ride in one of the big ferry's and didn't enjoy it that much at all. OK, it's nice for few hours, but then what? And I really can't understand how most of the Filipino stay away from the top desk and simply stay inside the sleeping hole, watch TV and sing karaoke...Som…

So. My internship is finished, time for another vacation!
Four months ago, when I still knew what my hometown looked like, I made up my mind on what I had to see in the Philippines, and there were three places that I just did not want to miss. Two of them I have already seen and they were …

The road to El Nido was by no means smooth, but compared with the road to Port Barton, it felt like the Autobahn... Arriving in El Nido is literally awesome. There's a huge rock that dwarfs the village and provides the backdrop to a quiet little gateway, where you can hire boats and go …

Tuesday morning 5.45am start, into tricycle to bus terminal. They crammed about 100 people into a 20 seater bus/jeep type vehicle. So so so squashed, but at least I was by the window so half my body could stick out and get fresh air and space! I seriously thought I was going to die from claustropho…

So today was the day we would all head back to Puerto Princesa. Needless to say that as usual we ended up getting hammered. I would've included mentioning it in the last paragraph of the last entry, but I didn't want to ruin the sentimental mood I was trying to describe. Nothing sentimental about g…

After a couple days in Manila to celebrate the new year Filipino-style (aka with a completely necessary excess of fireworks), we jetted off once again for a little post New Years relaxation in El Nido. As relaxing as it sounds to head to a resort in Palawan, there was very little lazing around, and…

It should have been Coron. But the last minute cancellation was a blessing in disguise. We arrived in the sleepy town in the airport of Palawan. Moments after having refreshments and small talk by our guide, we took the small speedboat to bring us to an outrigger boat in the middl…

There's some discussion if the Bacuit Archipelago is more beautiful than Halong Bay in Vietnam, but I can't really judge as I didn't visit Halong Bay. I can only say that the Bacuit Archipelago is stunning. Lots of small islands that pop out from the sea with huge limestone cliffs, small lagoons in…

I know a few people have said El Nido Resorts is just ridiculously expensive but this past weekend I got the experience of a lifetime. I got an email in early February telling me about this tour. I was quick to suggest it to my stepmom as something we could do over my little brother's spring break.…

Day 1 - MLA - PP- El Nido (Saturday)
My boyfriend and I left Manila Via Pal at 8am bound to Puerto Princesa for our 7days tour. I was so excited that I felt butterflies in my stomach when we boarded the plane. It was 2 years ago when I visited PP, Sabang and Port Barton with my officemate,I h…

We've finally explored El Nido! I must say that it's one of the best local destinations here in the Philippines.
We were able to see all the tourist spots of El Nido as we selected all the island-hopping packages (Tour A, B and C packages)
- Tour A (Big and Small Lagoons of Miniloc, Simisu and 7 Commandos Beach)
- Tour B (Snake Island, Cudugnon Cave, Lagen and Pinagbuyutan)
- Tour C (Tapuitan, Matinloc, Secret Beach, Helicopter Island )
