A, B, C and D Jan 15, 2013
There are four tours that are available in El Nido. Whole archipelago of 45 islands is divided in A, B, C and D tours, with specific area of coverage that boats are taking you. Tour operators are not necessarily taking you to the same beaches or points of interest. There is couple of attractions that everyone goes to, and after that you have 2-3 more stops in beautiful nature. Boats are usually small traditional Philippine boats with 3-4 personnel and they fit 10-16 people. Tours start around 9AM and end around 5PM and they include awesome lunch, masks, life jackets, towels, and sometimes fins and kayaks. Price range depends of the distance of the island group and it is from 700Php for tour A to 900Php for tour C. If you are into spending more money, bunch of private or exclusive boats can take you to your paradise beach, cater your needs of just leave you to camp on your beach and come to pick you up in a cay or two.

So Many Islands, So Little Time Aug 22, 2008
Aside from diving, island-hopping/beach-bumming are the most preferred activities in El Nido. And there are no shortage of islands to explore nor people that are willing to provide services for these activities.

The most well-known of them is probably the El Nido Boutique & Art Cafe. However, as mentioned in my blog, they aren't the cheapest, either. In fact, I think they overprice. So, it is better to weigh your options first (a.k.a. look for others to book the tour with) before signing up for a tour.

The tours are normally divided into 3 groups: A, B, and C. These tours cover most of the islands scattered all over Bacuit Bay, some with snorkeling as the main attraction, while others offer non-stop beach-hopping/bumming. However, there are also half-day tours, and if you wish to go to just one island/beach, you can just rent a boat for drop-off and pick-up. Most of these tours include lunch.

For more info on these tours, I would recommend that you go to Art Cafe's website (http://www.elnidoboutiqueandartcafe.com/island.html). But, I am NOT recommending that you pick them over others. The rest of the places offering island tours offer the same package, but for less.

If you're time in El Nido is limited, then it's better to pick just one or two of the tours. For snorkeling enthusiasts, I would recommend Tour C. But, the must-see's, such as the Big and Small Lagoons (among others) are covered in Tour A. Since I can't swim, I'd say go for the latter :D
