Panama Hat Museum Oct 19, 2009
This 'Museo del Sombrero de Paja Toquilla' is actually a shop for Panama hats (which originate from Ecuador, not Panama) disguised as a museum. Even if you're not in the market for a hat, it is still a nice place to have a short stop (it is located in the colonial centre). There are several interesting displays of the way Panama hats are traditionally made.
Be aware that if you are looking for a hat, this place is more expensive than the nearby market. However, salespeople of the shop do not impose on tourists, you are free to browse and ask if you need help. |
