El Escorial Vacation Guide
An hour by bus from Madrid, El Escorial is a small, pleasant town best known for the palace/monastery complex of San Lorenzo de El Escorial and the Valley of the Fallen (Valle de los Caidos). If you visit by train from Madrid, you will arrive in El Escorial proper, but both the main sights are in the neighboring municipality of San Lorenzo de El Escorial (which has its own TravBuddy entry).

after three week spending in toledo i back to madrid for a another day at school with my friend and at the week end we take the car and go visiting El escorial!!!!!!!!!!
sure this place is build for the memories of the war victims and genral franco was do a big cross near the monastery at maybe 13…

Tris trip took me to the spanish cities of Madrid and Barcelona as well as London. The winter was more or less pleasant taking into consideration the month of the year: january 2007.... but cold anyway!!!
Spain was a great destination with its historical buildings, prime museums, elegant urban avenues and old gothic and medieval churches. Gaudi and Dali are some of my favorites artists and their work can be fully appreciated in Barcelona. Do not miss the Ramblas pedestrian street in BCL!!!
