El Capito a peaceful place you do not want to leave that fast Mar 26, 2009
A friend and I spent 2 fabulous weeks at Las Galeras and we have to tell you about the restaurant El Capito at Las Galeras.
There are a couple of restaurants there along the main street. If you are tired of the noise and the street atmosphere try El capito. It is a little walk or you take the car. People can told you where it is.
Right obove the cliffs, with an incredible view. The owners: John is dutch and his wife is german. So english, german, dutch and spanish are the spoken language. The kids can help with french.
You can go only for a sundowner - el capito is the house drink a kind of caipirinha, but much better - an enjoy after a great day at the beach. And go for dinner, John is a great cook, and you can eat without any noise, just a bit windy it is sometimes but with the high temperatures its just great.
It is better to reservate. We met him in town and discussed with him when we want to come and what we want do eat. The Langustinos / Lobster/ Crawfish where fantastic. We didn't try, but the meet in DR must be great. Just natural food. The way back is through darkness, take a torch with you. But you will enjoy every single moment there.

Hope you will go and try!!!
