Melbourne, Australia -› Santiago, Chile -› …
El Bolson is a smallish town south of Bariloche. We decided to come here as the weather was shizen at Bariloche and hoped we get a break from the rain somewhere else (south is not the logical move, but hey?). We took the dodgy two hour bus and arrived about 11am, plenty of time to find a place to s…

Hobart, Australia -› Sydney, Australia -› …
This town (same latitude as Hobart - 42 South) has an amazing backdrop of a granite mountain ridge covered by landslides and trees of all shades from rd/yellow to dark green. Unfortunately the weather wasn't good enough to do the hikes I had planned but I headed out to Lago Puelo and up to Cabeza d…

El Bolson is a much smaller town than Bariloche. It has more of a hippy undercurrent and is closer to the mountains. From the bus station we walked across the road to the C.A.P. (Club Andino Piltriquitron) office to get information on treks in the area and half an hour later we found ourselves on t…

This past fall I took a semester off of school to go live in Buenos Aires. I took language classes at Bridge Linguatec in the mornings, and volunteered teaching English at the Casa del Ninos in La Boca in the afternoons. I was living with an Argentine family for the first month, then got an apartment for the next two months. It was amazing! I also got to do a bit of travelling around Argentina and in Brasil as well.

Today we were all set to leave El Bolson. Me, Marieke, Dayenne, Florencia, Judith, and Diana (a new comer to our little posse as of this morning´s breakfast).
We checked out of El Molinito, but left our bags there so that we could stroll the (famous) outdoor market at El Bolson today…

I came to El Bolson, a couple of hours south of Bariloche on Sunday afternoon. It´s known as a hippy hangout and has a sign in the middle of town declaring it a non-nuclear zone. It´s also a very good place to go walking in the mountains, with ranges on both sides. On Monday morning I set off wit…
