Colombian Drinks From Colombians May 11, 2011
I went to El Basuero for the first time last Saturday. The place from the outside is nothing like what it is on the inside. El Basuero litterally means "the dump" in Spanish, and they chose the name well. The place is littered with all kinds of junk that at first seems kitschy, but after taking it all in, I guess it works. The place is very large, as it goes very deep. Examples of the decor are an old pickup truck draped with the Colombian flag, baby dolls hanging from the ceiling, all kinds of industrial metal fittings, and bar accessories made with old pipes.

The drinks are not bad. A popular drink from Colombia, usually made with Aguila beer and Colombiana soda, called refajo when combined, is served here. The service could pick up the pace, but the place seems to always stay pretty packed, so it is forgivable.
