A patch of lush greenery near the Dead Sea Mar 19, 2008
Ein Gedi Kibbutz Hotel is a lovely place for accommodation in the desert in Israel providing stunning views over the Dead Sea. The little houses are scattered in the leafy greenery of the magnificent botanical gardens that show off with hundreds of different plants and trees and nice footpaths for walking. The room was of average size and it had all the basics. After all, we hadn't come there to stay in the room but rather go to the beach. Food was really good with many dishes to choose from - eat as much as you like. There was a regular bus service (a five-minute ride) to the spa at the Dead Sea and the entrance to the sulfur and mineral pools of the spa were free. Then there was a shuttle service to the beach. They also offered night-time guided tours in the mountains nearby and this was quite an experience as it was pitch dark and some of the slopes were quite steep.
