Fue un fin de semana tranquilo. Llegamos a Eilat, sufrimos los 42 gC, nos encerramos en le shopping y el hotel hasta la noche, y después pudimos ir a nadar en la playa, donde cenamos luego de un rato.It was a a very quiet weekend. We arrive to Eilat where we suffer the 42gC, so we get into the shopping center and then the hotel to enjoy the air conditioner and at night we went to the beach to swim and dinner.Al día siguiente, fuimos a bucear, la primer vez para mi hermana, y mi mamá se reh…

Eilat is Israel's southernmost city, a busy port as well as a popular tourist destination, located at the northern tip of the Red Sea, on the Gulf of Eilat. The city is part of the Southern Negev Desert, at the southern end of the Arava. The city is adjacent to the Egyptian village of Taba, to the south, and the Jordanian port city of Aqaba, to the east.
Eilat's semi-arid desert climate is moderated by proximity to a warm sea. The city's beaches, nightlife and desert landscapes make it…

I really wish we had more time to spend in Eilat, as I have heard that it's a beautiful city, but unfortunately we only headed there to cross the border to enter Jordan. We took a bus at midnight (of all times!) and did our best to enjoy the Israeli desert scenery in the middle of the night and sleep at the same time. We arrived in Eilat at around 4:30 AM and then looked for the bus that would take us to the Eilat/Aqaba border. It wasn't long before the locals informed us th…

Hi Everyone from Eilat!!!
So, the one day in Tel Aviv was fun...did a little shopping at the market -it is very intimidating at first, then you totally lose yourself in it. The prices are already so cheap so bargaining on them seems like robbery.
Then, we grabbed some coffee at a small cafe in Yafo, then with some hours to kill before the overnight bus to Eilat, we went to the beach in Tel Aviv...and watched the sunset over the Mediterranean just talking away.
Eventually it was time …

Well early Friday morning my buddy Jim and I set out form Tel-Aviv to head to the Red Sea at Eilat. Okay no problem got on the highway 40 headed south to Beer sheva. High point was the interperative center at Makhtesh Ramon. Stopped there to take a proper look at the giant crater in the earth. Good thing we stopped as it is a natural occuring geological site and not some large hunk of earth blasted away by a meteor. The interperative site explained that all for us. After a coffee and somethin…

Eilat, located at the southern tip of Israel, reminds me alot of Jersey shore towns and Atlantic city (without the gambling). its a beach touristy town with expensive 5 star hotels (we rented a somewhat cheap room from a local), a boardwalk filled with venders selling cheap products, and teenagers crowding around the mall checking each other out. It wasn't my favorite city during my Israeli trip, but I did love the surrounding landscape of the desert mountains, red sea and palm trees. During …

Today has been the hottest day so far, it was over 100 degrees in the desert. We stopped at Timna National Park which was an ancient Egyptian copper mine. There were hundreds of tunnels dug by the Egyptians to mine the copper.
From there, we headed to Eilat which is on the Red Sea. Took a tour of the aquarium and drove down to the Egyptian border crossing. My sister and I then went snorkeling and saw many of the fish seen at the aquarium.
Keeping the blog short since I have to wake up in le…

My first time swimming with dolphins was an indescribable experience. I've never felt so relaxed, so relieved. It was an experience i'll never forget.

Nice place for diving and relaxation but i guess things might have changed a great dal since i was there since it looked to be under a great deal of construction..Hotels being built all over the place and the Red Sea having wonderful diving abilities. They also had an aquarium where we could go down and look at the fishes or should i say they look at us. I guess it all depends on how we look at it..STill this is a very tourist place and if you like night life and beaches all night …

I went to Israel in 1997 to study for a year at Tel-Aviv University. During the course of the year, I decided to change my plans and go to the Arava Institute of Environmental Studies. I came back in August 1999 for a graduate program and here are some of the photos

Via Eilat gingen we van Israël naar Egypte want de Sinaï woestijn hoort (weer) bij Egypte. Het passeren van de grens is een langdurig proces als je met een grote groep bent maar ach alles went.
