Eiffel Tower, Seine Cruise...after walk the Champs Reviews

This is a good sightseeing day planner:
The Eiffel Tower is a must see in Paris and you must make it to the third level (top floor). Fares, I think are reasonable, but make certain that you arrive in the morning, like 10:00am, because the lines, even in the Winter, are an hour long and busy elevators left me a little Closter phobic. Now, aside from the spectacular panoramic views…it is just a lovely experience. Check out the shops and browse the levels...remember that it is windy up there, so ladies, no loose dresses/skirts. I did not eat at the "Nice" restaurant...too expensive for me, though I have heard only good things about it from those who lived in Paris, I will leave that to your discerning budget. Now after you come down...The Seine cruise rides are at the bottom of the tower, just cross the road down the stairs to the right the river. I highly recommend this, take two in fact, the Bateaux Parisien offers a nice sightseeing cruise for only 10 Euro/person, so take one in the day and one at night!! Take tons of pictures, the view from this angle is impressive! Now back from your cruise, head over the bridge and towards the Trocadero, take in the huge fountains and walk up the grand staircase to the landing...spectacular location for photos!! Have a Waffle with sugar while you are there too, for only 2 Euro...you deserve it! Now if you are up for it (I think that it is close), I suggest a walk to the Arc de Triomphe and a stroll down the Champs Elysees to the Place de la Concorde...but I am a walker...and Paris should really be seen and enjoyed on foot...just my recommendation. After all of this, rest, and remember to wear good walking shoes. P.S: Treat yourself to nice dinner, if on the Champs, then most places are good, the standard there seems a little higher then other popular tourist places, which I do not recommend eating in. Always find something off the beaten path, that looks busy with only French speaking people in it...you know then that it is the best, if the Parisiens frequent it! Part of the Paris is fabulous to visit... travel blog |
