Eger Castle Reviews
Worth it for the views alone Oct 10, 2010
Sitting above the Hungarian town, Eger Castle is well worth the visit, even if only for nice views of Eger.
There have been different castles built on the spot over the centuries. The current structure was used to repel the Turks in 1552, during the Siege of Eger.
A nice place to walk around, seeing the castle ruins. And the views of the town is nicer than that from the Lyceum. There are tents and other things to see on the premise.
There are multiple museums on the premise, but I did not get a chance to go to them. From what I hear, they are hit or miss. And each one may require separate admission.
But just walking around the grounds, is well worth the time and money, for the better views of Eger and seeing the ruins.
