Hi everyone, This is my first week in Edmonton, so I thought it would be a nice opportunity to give a first impression of the trip and Canada itself. Canada is a beautiful country wih lots of mountains and blablablablablablabla. Yeah, that is exactly what this blog is not for. To have you all read this and take the risk I will bore you to death or get you fired, because you thought it would be a good idea to read this at work and are drooling over your keyboard right now. Edmonton is a nice ...

We left from Jasper pretty early in the morning. We seemed to be the first ones awake on the campsite as we pulled away on the frosty road, slightly bitter at the site of warm campers and RVs lining the road. So we were back on the road, back on bear watch, and heading towards Edmonton. We didn't know quite what to expect from Edmonton... what we sure didn't expect was the heat wave that encompassed our car as we drove on the highway. It was almost unbearable in our land rover with no air con...

A River Runs Through It ....eh?

No, not the movie, "the city"..........Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, that is.................. The North Saskatchewan River meanders smack dab through the middle of downtown Edmonton  which goes on to join the Saskatchewan and Nelson Rivers to flow into Hudson Bay, and ultimately, to the Atlantic Ocean.  My travels will not take me that far today but I will try to get in as much "face time" as I can with one of my favorite Canadian cities. Our hotel is in the city centre and just a s...

My firends are either at work or at school, so I have a chance to update this. I don't know how long I'm going to stay here. My flight leaves Monday, but I might see about pushing it up, although monday isn't too far away. There just isn't that much to do here. I want to get on with my adventure and see what the world has for me.

Wer hier aussteigen will, muß seinen Haltewunsch 48 ...

In four and a half months I will leave for Europe.  When I was seventeen I thought the best year of my life would be when I was 24.  I thought it was this ideal age where you were still young and could have fun, but old enough to have money, be on your own, and actually afford the freedom to follow your whims.  Of course, I'm sure this is at least somewhat related to the fact that I semi-idolized a twenty-four year old who packed his bags and heft for Hollywood with n...
