Edinburgh!

Edinburgh is an awesome city, although I thought that going to the castle was a bit of a waste of time. I had a wonderful brunch on the firth of fourth with some cool couchsurfers, went to the national museum of Scotland, walked to the top of Arthur's seat, saw a french movie (tell no one) in an independent cinema, drank whiskey, ate haggis (i know, i know, but when in Scotland....), and took a ghost tour. Ah the ghost tour. So I had heard about strange happenings on these ghost tours, but ...

Edinburgh sightseeing and the Military Tattoo
posted by:
Aug 02, 2003 - Aug 09, 2003
This was my maiden trip to Scotland, and it was like seeing a whole new world. In a span of a week, I've tasted modern Glasgwegian glamour, the deep and mysterious Scottish highlands, the joy of fishing villages, the heritage by way of Stirling and the tradition that is the Military Tattoo. All in all, an experience worth dying for.

For my first transatlantic trip, I spent two weeks touring England and Scotland. We had the opportunity to explore the cities but also to enjoy the serenity of both countries landscapes.

So part two of my journey.   My decsion to leave balmoral and move down to edinburgh was a bit a random and out of the blue, one day i just woke up and decided it was time to keep moving. So off i went to Edinburgh, luckily for me i had made a friend who was working nearby balmoral so he offered me a lift back to edinbugh. and it was great heated leather seats... definatley beats a hard seat on the train. On arriving into edinburgh i was surronded by beauty, new people, old buildings ...

Many of you are upset with me because I'm not indulging you with a surplus of blogs and updates on my haps in Scotland. For that I am very sorry. Please know that I'm too busy working my bum off, and when I'm not doing that, I'm having too much fun doing other things and quite frankly couldn't be bothered wasting time in cyberspace. I've been gone a week and a half now and have so much to share, but no blog (or photograph) could possibly do justice. But I will do my best right now to catch yo...

Caught my flight in the morning to Edinburgh, Scotland.  Found my way to the hostel and started exploring the city.  I made it just in time for the free tour around the city.  The tour was pretty interesting, he took us to all the historical sites of the city. After the tour I made my way to Edinburgh Castle to check out the Crown Jewels of Scotland. The castle was built on top of a volcanic plug, there use to be a man made lake around the castle.  The lake became too...

Only got to spend 2 days here but I really loved it and hope to get back very soon. The people here were so great, the Scottish accent is officially my all-time favorite. Is it too much to ask to have met a nice Scottish man to take home with me? I'd have him read to me each evening and we'd spend 6 months a year in the UK and 6 months here in the US. Maybe next time....
