i would go to the edge of the "known world" the farthest point in all western Europe. It was amazing, but bring a jacket it was a little windy.

It was scary and at
the top there was just a thin wire close to the ground to keep you
from walking over the edge. But the view was very good. You can see
the monument to Jesus and the suspension bridge that looks a whole
lot like Golden Gate in San Fransisco. Oh, by the way, I didn't
mention that the city gets it's water from… Lisbon |

Lisbon is old, and it's dirty, and it's certainly frayed at the edges, but boy would it be cool to belong there. It feels like a European New York City in that sense, and just as exclusive a club. When the *ancient* streetcars go rumbling by they mean business. When that dude at the bar wants… I can still feel the grit in my teeth |

It is however on the top of a hill with a sharp drop and to take pictures you have to get quite near the edge .There was a gale blowing while we were there and thought I was going to get blown over a few times , but you get a nice view back over to the city and down the river.
