Lovely Hotel - Lots of steps though... Dec 01, 2009
Me and my boyfriend stayed at the Eden Rock back in September for 10 days and really enjoyed it.

As we know our way around Naama Bay from our visit last year we got a taxi from the airport which took us to to the start of Naama Bay and we ended up walking all the up to the beach, with luggage was a bit of a pain as we were tired (arrived at 10pm) but could not find this hotel. I think it is relatively new as no one seemed to know where it was! After asking at a nearby supermarket we walked down to pretty much the seafront where our hotel was located...up top of a cliff!!! There is a Yellow neon sign to the entrance of the base of the steps to the hotel at the base of the cliff, a stones throw from the beach and just infront of the Iberotel Lido of which Eden Rock shares a part of the private beach.

So 135 steps later we reached the top and were met by security/porter who took our bags and showed us to reception. They said that the hotel wasn't currently busy and we asked for "the best" room which in all honesty was quite nice. Now we stayed in Naama bay before at the Tropicana New Tiran (which I'll put my review in later for)and the room was huge so we were a little disappointed on the size this time round as it was much smaller and they gave us twin beds as we had last year even though a double was requested and not twin. The bathroom was very clean and towelsbedlinen were changed regularly. The hotel staff were all men as we noticed last year but were friendly and polite.

Our room view was lovely and had some lovely flowers around the balcony which were used when the cleaners decorated our fresh towels into swans or hearts!

There was no safe in the rooms so you leave your valuable belongings with the front reception in an envelope which you seal sign, staple and leave with them, they do put it in a safe and all our goods seemed quite safe and all accounted for.

Although we were pleased with the service from 99% of the staff, we did have an issue with one of the shift managers who took us to Old Sharm Market one evening for some authentic Egyptian food but told us that he would pay as he could get "Egyptian prices" and then he seemed like a nice guy as we spoke to him pretty much every day at the hotel so we didn't see an issue, he said that Naama bay is too expensive and everything in Old Market was cheaper, turns out everything cost us 3 times as much maybe some "Egyptian commission?" so in the light of day before we handed him the money we went back by ourselves and made note of what we had to eat and drink and when we went back to him to tell him that it was considerably less than what he was asking a quick call to the restaurant from him soon corrected "the mistake" as apparently our tables got mixed up hmmm....

He apologised and gave us back some of what we paid, fair enough they do not make much money but it seemed like a bit of a trick but this has no reflection on the hotel as a whole just something to be aware of...

Pool was lovely and if you wanted to visit the beach the towel guy would issue you fresh towels, even if you came back to the hotel from the beach to get dry ones, had a good sense of humour too! There was always space by the pool maybe because is wasn't peak time but always got a lounger anytime we wanted.

There was a small space allocated to the hotel on the beach which was fine, the staff from Iberotel Lido were also serving drinks which were much needed!!!

Breakfast was very nice, we stayed B+B so cannot comment on the dinner. Lunch was good though we had a meat pizza and chips on a regular basis.

I would recommend anyone to stay here as the heart of Naama bay can be seen from the fab view, the area is very safe as you pass a tourism police station and a security hut to and from the main strip. The only thing is the steps are a bit of a challenge during the day in the heat or in the evening in the heat/after a few drinks lol!

Eden Rock is far away enough from the bay which still means you can get a good nights sleep if you want, I'm not fussed about that but I know some people can be - the walk to the lively-ness is only 5-6 mins or so...and thats a slow stroll so its a great location.

One thing we did notice and would say to people travelling there from the airport is to tell the taxi driver to drop you to the front of the hotel! We lugged our suitcases all the way up those stairs which was very hard work which took us to the back entrance but the front entrance can be reached via taxi!

Absolutely Brilliant! Nov 15, 2009
The hotel was in a beautiful peaceful setting with stunning views over looking Neama Bay, especially from your private balcony. The pool was clean and sunbeds always available. It was in easy walking distance of the beach front for snorkling and in the evening for night life.

The room was comfortable and cleaned daily to a good standard. There was a mini bar and fridge, air conditioning and TV.

There was a varied choice of food for all meals.

All the staff throughout the hotel were very approachable, friendly and professional.

It was my first time In this hotel in sharm but really i spend very nice time in this hotel
Very Nice Hotel
