Eden Nature Park - a Natural Paradise May 21, 2008
I have always been a lover of nature, often times prefering a relaxing labyrinth walk around the garden than shopping at large malls (ooppss.. except for those 'special shopping days, haha')..

Anyway...walking through eco-parks makes me feel more alive and fresher and happier :) that is why Eden Nature's Park is indeed a paradise for me..

I remembered last March when our friend Gari visited us in Davao(his first time)and requested Arnold and I to bring him to the park - never mind the other destinations, the park (and the eagle center) are a must.. he wasn't mistaken of course because after bringing him there hours before his flight, he realized one day was NOT enough and he will definitely come back, haha.

For those who are seeking for peace of mind, or a paradise to relax into, the park is for you.

The following are just some of its attractions and facilities:

Hiking and Jogging Trails

Swimming Pool (located at the highest point of the park, a wonderful view of Davao City and the Gulf)

Fishing Village

Playground

Animal Sanctuary

Flower, Prayer, Herb and Vegetable Gardens

Tree Nursery

Plaza Maria (garden home of the Virgin Mary)

Guided Shuttle Tour

Vista Kiosk - an ideal venue for concerts/performances, weddings and other special events.

Garden Hall - An open spacious hall with a large courtyard, meticulously landscaped and planted with well-chosen greens

Holiday Terraces - Surrounded by Mangosteen Orchard, it is set a against a beautiful manmade miniature waterfall blessed with a backdrop of rare ferns growing naturally on a roof under a canopy of giant trees.

Campsites

Mountain Villas

Log Cabins

Pine Lodges

RATES? hmm... according to their site, they have the ff:

Standard Room : P 1, 323/ night (2 persons) with common toilet and bath

Standard Room : P 3, 938/night (4 persons) own toilet and bath

Vista Cottage: P 3, 938/night (2 persons) with mini bar, TV, toilet and bath and P525 for one extra bed

Family Cottages: P 7, 560 (for 12 persons) with receiving area, dining area, kitchen, cooking and dining wares, refrigerator, TV, toilet and bath

Campsite : P 788/tent (5 pax per tent) with dining area, grill, cooking and bonfire areas and common toilet and bath

How to get there?

Never walk, of course, hehe..Well, the park is located one hour from Davao Airport. If taking off from Davao City proper, travel southwards to Toril District.

AND Remember, if you are traveling in a taxi, always ask if its LPG-run or not..if it's LPG, well, expect a long, slow drive since the taxi can't climb that fast when it's LPG run :)

Hope you learned from this review :)
