I flew from Santiago into Guayaquil, but as everyone told me and as its the biggest city in Ecuador,  I decided to skip it since a big city is a big city and I`d rather see some of the other aspects of Ecuador.

On the way to Guayaquil we had to cross the border into Ecuador. 4 days in Quito, Ecuador!

When we first got to Quitumbe, we were greeted by shouts of "Alan, ALAN!!!" From Quito, to Banos and then surfing on the Pacific! Ecuador uses the US $, and for less than 300 you can jump off bridges, rappel off waterfalls, learn to surf, eat like a king.....the list goes on. The most amazing trip ever!

Quito, Coca, Mondana, Agua Santa, Banos, Salinas, Riobamba, Chimborozo, Mitad del Mundo, Chugchilan... Went for a month with an anthropology class on sustainable development - it was one of the most amazing experiences I have ever had.

I eventually make it to Quito after taking a night bus to the border town of Tumbes in Peru then catching a bus across to Ecuador before jumping on another night bus to Quito.
