The main museum of the monastery has a focus on religious art, but also displays old documents, bibles and ceremonial clothes. The centrepiece is an 81 cm high wooden cross called “Rafail's Cross”, carved by a monk called Rafail between 1790 and 1802. The cross displays 104 biblican scenes with over 600 human figurines. All items are labelled in English and Bulgarian, for more explanation than that however, you'll have to either get some own literature beforehand or buy one of the quite expensive books from the ticket desk. This museum is the one where you are likely to spend the most time in (compared to the other museums on the ground), but 20-30 minutes is realistic if you are not an expert on this topic or very religious. There is an 8,00 Lev entry fee.
