Quiet, Sustainable, & Tasty May 14, 2015
Eat NOLA is one of those new sustainable restaurants spreading across the country which utilizes as much homegrown food as possible in its menus. Located in a quiet part of the French Quarter it seems like a small neighborhood bistro. Since this is New Orleans the food has to be good. The atmosphere was very relaxed... our tattooed and diesel waiter who looked intimidating at first could not have been more laid back and calm. He guided us through the menu. The Fried Green Tomato Remoulade was a nice starter with a little bit of a kick. The pork tenderloin was perfectly cooked and juicy. The baked macaroni and cheese was fine, but I had better in the city. I love the idea of using local produce as it is better for the environment and frankly fresher tasting. It was a nice respite from the hustle and bustle of the Big Easy.
