Easy ride from Portland to Boston Reviews
The Down Easter Jun 29, 2009
There is an Amtrak line that runs between Boston, MA, and Portland, ME. This train is inexpensive and is a nicer ride than the Concord Coach Lines. The whole trip (one way) only takes about 2 hours, so there is no traffic, its quiet, and you can get up and move around, Plus they have a snack care where you can purchase food, candy and drinks both alcoholic and non alcoholic. This would be a good service for skiers or snow boarders in the winter who do not want to drive the whole way to Maine and back, or good if you just want to see Boston or Portland for a day. The train also stops at old Orchard Beach which is a popular Southern Maine Destination.
