Eastport Vacation Guide
Eastport, Maine is located on Moose Island at the end of Route 190 off US Route 1. It is the Easternmost city in the United States of America. The unspoiled Island City has natural beauty, historic charm, and is home to a few lucky folks.
During the War of 1812, British troops took over and ruled until 1818, making Eastport the only area of the United States to be continually occupied by the British after US Independence.
Today, its National Historic Waterfront District features interesting architecture dating back to the 1800s and offers a contrast to the natural beauty of the working waterfront.
Eastport has some of the highest tides in the USA. The Passamaquoddy Bay offers a chance to see many sea birds including eagles, seals and maybe a whale, right from downtown.
