East Midlands Guest House

This place has a very negative feel about it when you pull up outside. It is not clearly displayed that it is a guest house until you are on the same side of the road. It is in a very rough area of Derby which was not stated on the online booking service. The member of staff there was very rude and abrupt. Was more bothered about his laptop then showing us around the building. States that has en suite bathroom however is a communal shower room and toilet. Not for the faint hearted!! Not very clean and had a damp smell. When it came to getting in the room they had got the booking wrong and refused to cooperate. Double room was booked however twin room was given. Liked the idea of taking your own food however dont think the kitchen has been cleaned in a long time so wouldnt recommend cooking in there. Was £33 for the night however was that disgusted and appalled that I didn't end up staying and instead slept in a tent on a friends back garden which seemed more luxurious. Would not recommend this place to anyone unless dirty and smelly is appealing to them! Member of staff on site did not even ask as to why I refused to stay and instead turned back to his laptop!!
